Carla Babb
Coach
Carla has served as Executive Director of Cypress Counseling Group in Brentwood, TN since 2011 where she provides therapy to couples and individuals longing for more intimacy in their life with themselves and with others. She recently joined Tin Man to offer Intensives for Women who could benefit from really knowing how their story impacts their present. Carla believes that intensive daylong work--doing a deep dive into the themes and tapes that play in our heads and impact the way we move through our life-- can be the most impactful and meaningful steps we can take in our personal healing. She helps people rewrite whatever parts of their narrative aren’t working for them in order to begin to tell the story with their life they were meant to tell.
Carla attended James Madison University and received her MA and EdS in Community Counseling. She and her husband, Paul, have their own story of learning how to be a couple, struggling as new parents of two children, feeling distance in their relationship and almost separating. Carla knows personally the pain of growing up with divorced parents, the impact of childhood trauma, the struggle of fitting in, the pain of living with someone with addiction, and the weight of having a parent with a life-threatening illness. And through all this life that showed up, she also knows the beauty of recovery, the sweetness in the moments we pay attention to more closely, the joy in pursuing relationship with intention, and the power of gratitude and mindfulness.
