Jeff's Story

“I thought if I could be successful, life would work.  Life did work on the outside but I was dying on the inside.  I was lonely for myself, lonely for God, lonely for a dad I never had, lonely for my wife and kids, and lonely for friends I was around but didn’t know how to connect to.” - Jeff Schulte

VOICE OF THE HEART - Bible Study

How did we drift to a place where how God made us (feeling, needing, desiring, longing, hoping beings) would be the very part of us we attempt to overcome to mature in Christ? When did feelings become the enemy of spiritual maturity? No wonder for so many of us, "doing the Christian life" is an exercise in "doing." No wonder what we call being in relationship with God sometimes feels like eating shredded wheat with no milk. We're attempting to do relationships with our heads, cut off from the voice of our hearts. We end up living life alone, trapped in the prison of our own intellect, morality, and self-will. Despite being hard-wired for intimate relationships, our fear and shame keep us detached from our hearts and therefore detached from the ones we love. We learn to cope with life by utilizing any form of escape. This is not living -- this is barely surviving. The Voice of the Heart Bible Study is for anyone who wants more. Dig deeper into Scripture and your own story individually, in a group setting, or with a friend. No matter your situation, this study will guide you, one step at a time, on the journey home: home to the God who made you, home to the gifts He gave you, home to your family, home to your passion, and home to your calling.
